Notes: MN NATIVE. Non-evergreen conifer. Soft bluish green needles turn orange in autumn & fall off. New growth returns in spring. Besides being found in dry upland soils, eastern larch also likes to grow in wet peaty soils such as bogs and swamps alongside black spruce. It also has small, deep maroon cones that gives you another reason to love this tree.
