Thank you for your interest in Thomsens Greenhouse and Garden Center. We are now seeking happy people, to work with other happy people and plants for our 2021 season. Voted “Best Of” six years straight is an indication of our team, and our customers! If you’re interested in any of the following positions, we’d love to hear from you!
You don’t have to be a plant expert to work with us, but a positive attitude expert is a must. We’ll train the rest.
These positions can range from part time to full time seasonal, dependent upon the needs of the candidate, and the business. The positions would begin in March or April continuing until early summer. If you are interested in being part of a team with the reputation as an industry benchmark, and are capable to contribute at that level, this may be the opportunity for you. 1. Retail Associate:
Beautiful plants, happy people, and a warm greenhouse are a few of the most rewarding
reasons to be a part of our team for the upcoming season. Thomsens Retail Associates are
integral to the customer experience; interacting with customer, providing assistance,
operating the register and light plant care/maintenance. A positive, healthy attitude is
a must. Plant knowledge helps too. Some evenings and weekends are required.
2. Gardener:
Love being outdoors, working in gardens, and interacting with clients? That is the summary
of our gardener position. Responsibilities involve carrying out planting, general
gardening, and consulting with clientele at their home or place of business. There is
tree & shrub planting required, however this is not landscaping. This position is highly
independent, and the individual must be extremely capable of effectively interacting with
clientele.
3. Nursery and Outdoor Yard Lead
This position is a leadership role in the operation, as such requires an individual willing and able to contribute to a range of responsibilities. They will, lead and participate in all facets of the outdoor nursery and yard, to include planting, maintenance, displaying and selling of trees and shrubs, interacting with customers, equipment operation (ability to be trained), general business/customer troubleshooting and problem solving. The season for the business progresses quickly one must possess the ability to keep pace with the changing needs at any given point within that season. The role is full time, seasonal.
