Notes: Blooms in early summer with purple spikes that blooms from the bottom to the top. The flowers float above delicate-looking silvery foliage. Thrives in any type of soil as long as it isn't too wet. Roots up to 15' deep enable it to survive drought. May die back in an extremely harsh winter, but will come back from the roots. Larval host of the Dog Face Sulphur butterfly. Attracts bees, butterflies, moths and other beneficial insects. Deer and rabbit resistant once established. May be late to leaf out in spring.
