Notes: Dutchmans Breeches is a true spring woodland ephemeral. Flowers in early spring before the trees leaf out, which is the ideal time for emerging bumblebees to find food before anything else starts blooming. After the trees leaf out, it will slowly go dormant by midsummer. Must have moist but well-drained soil. Will not survive in heavy soils.
