Notes: Important as one of the first nectar-producing plants in the spring. Bees and Butterflies need it as they come out of hibernation. Hummingbirds follow the columbine as they migrate back north. Larval host plant of the Columbine Duskywing. Long blooming with colorful red and yellow flowers. Will tolerate a wide range of soil types. Can be grown in full sun as well as full shade. Grows in pine tree areas and is deer-resistant.
