Trust in Thomsens

All bare root and potted trees (which are sold in our tree yard), shrubs, evergreens, vines and shrub roses purchased from Thomsens are accompanied by a one-year warranty (subject to certain exclusions for clearance items). Should the item fail to grow under normal growing conditions within one-year from the date of purchase, it is eligible for a one-time replacement. This limited warranty is valid if you are the original purchaser and have followed the planting and care guidelines provided at the time of purchase. The item must have been installed in the ground to be warrantied. Unfortunately, our warranty cannot cover acts of God; such as deer or drought or excess wind, nor can it cover human error such as damages from lawn mowers and weed-whips.

Thomsens offers an extended 2-year warranty on all bare root and potted trees and shrubs with the purchase of Myke Tree & Shrub Growth Enhancer. Approved by the USDA, Myke’s growth supplement contains mycorrhizae – a biological supplement – which foster root growth & development. The purchase of one package of Myke’s can be used to double the length of the warranty on multiple trees and shrubs (typically 2 trees or 4 shrubs per 1 container of Myke’s).

“Finished” trees, which are identified with specific price tag designations and sold separate from our bare root tree stock, are substantially older trees and are only warrantied for one year IF Thomsens plants the tree for you. While still encouraged, the purchase of Myke’s with a Finished tree does not create a warranty situation, nor does it extend the warranty on a Finished tree if Thomsens plants it for you.

Special order trees / evergreens / shrubs etc may not be warrantied, as replacement may not be possible if the plant were to die.

Under the warranty policy, replacement must be accompanied by all of the following: original receipt, the Thomsens warranty form (received at time of purchase) and the plant. Replacement of any item is valued up to the purchase price; items purchased on sale but still warrantied are warrantied at the sale price. If the price of the tree has gone up since the prior year the customer needs to pay the difference. If Thomsens is unable to replace the returned plant with the same plant, an alternative similarly priced plant can be substituted. No cash, check or credit card refunds will be issued.
